On your own blog, write a post that:

makes a link to Nichole’s post
comments on what skills/knowledge are evident in the post and in the comments about her post
reflects on why or why not you would consider using blogs in your teaching

Here’s a picture by Gafoto. It’s important that we show our students how to use Creative Commons images and that they learn how to link to those photographers.

Here’s a link to an Edublogs User Manual by Gail Desler of Area 3 Writing Project in California. Using Gail’s instructions as our guide, let’s:

add a link in the blogroll (this could be where you have student blogs)
add an image and format that image. Use a Creative Commons image please.
learn to monitor our blog (for instance, so that no inappropriate comments are posted)
comment on someone else’s blog in this class and approve the comments others make
add users to your blog and set their permissions
